IndusInd Bank Q2 profit at Rs 59 cr

Our Bureau

Mumbai , Oct. 28

INDUSIND Bank Ltd registered a decline of 22.7 per cent in net profit to Rs 58.91 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2004 as against Rs 76.23 crore in the second quarter of the previous fiscal.

The current results of the bank include the financial performance of the erstwhile Ashok Leyland Finance and therefore are not comparable.

The drop in profits was mainly on account of reduced treasury income on profit from sale of investments and the transfer of Government securities from `available for sale' category to `held to maturity' category in accordance with RBI guidelines, said a press release. For the half-year ended September, net profit registered a marginal increase of 3.49 per cent to Rs 104.39 crore.
