Swiss plea to entrepreneurs

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: The Development Economic Western Switzerland (DEWS), comprising Cantons of Vaud, Valais and Neuchatel, has asked the Indian entrepreneurs to leverage the opportunities and facilities offered by it.

Mr Francis Sermet, Managing Director of DEWS, said that the agency supported progressive international companies in setting up a pan-European base in the region to cater to their global operations.

Mr Sermet, who was in the city to meet members of Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI), told newsmen that the French-speaking part of Switzerland offered an ideal, low-cost and tax-effective location for setting up global trading and holding companies.

"It is also an ideal location for setting up contract manufacturing companies, biotech, software and services companies," he said. Companies setting up manufacturing facilities or contract manufacturing structure attracted a 10-year tax holiday.
