Infrastructure Gurgaon to be made `no power cut' zone Rajesh Ahuja
Chandigarh , Oct. 29 THE Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Om Prakash Chautala, today announced that Gurgaon would be made a `no power cut' zone and it would be connected to Delhi with Metro Rail. Reviewing the progress of developmental projects being implemented in Gurgaon at a meeting of senior officers, Mr Chautala said that 10 new sub-stations would be set up to improve the availability of power in Gurgaon. He directed that the work to set up these sub-stations should be taken up within two weeks. He said the State Government was in constant touch with the Centre as well as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation to get Gurgaon connected with the Metro Rail. He hoped that Gurgaon would be connected in the second phase of the project. Mr Chautala sanctioned a project for setting up a laser fountain over an area of 70 acres at Dundahera along National Highway No.1 of the pattern of a similar fountain in Singapore. He said that this project would be developed by the Haryana Urban Development Authority for the entertainment of people. And the 45-km long road from Rajiv Chowk in Gurgaon to Nuh would be four-laned. He sanctioned construction of three flyovers and one underground passage at a cost of Rs 79 crore to ensure smooth flow of traffic from IFFCO Chowk to Sikandarpur. He also approved construction of two roads to connect Gurgaon with Delhi. Also, the stretch of road between Mahavir Chowk and Rajiv Chowk would be four-laned at a cost of Rs 3.47 crore.
