IIM-K holds seminar

KOCHI: Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode organised a one-day seminar, OPUS-O4 on Operations Management in Kozhikode on Sunday in association with CII Institute of Logistics and Cochin Shipyard Ltd.

The theme of the seminar was operational excellence in the Indian industry and it focussed on best practices in the industry like supply chain management, six sigma, logistics and distribution management, synergy between SCM and logistics management, lean manufacturing and total quality management.

Delivering the keynote address, Commodore M.K. Murthy, CMD, CSL, said Indian companies have to respond to the urgent needs for improving quality of products and competitive pricing to retain existing market share and to grow in a competitive business environment. Dr Krishna Kumar, Director, IIM-K inaugurated the seminar.
