Natco Pharma Q2 profit up 10 pc

NATCO Pharma Ltd (NPL), the Hyderabad-based Rs 154-crore pharmaceutical major, has recorded a growth of 21 per cent in turnover and 10 per cent increase in net profit for the second quarter of the current fiscal ended September 30.

As per the unaudited financial results taken on record by the NPL board here on Saturday, the turnover for the quarter stood at Rs 46.18 crore compared with Rs 38.44 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal. As against a net profit of Rs 6.02 crore in the same quarter of last fiscal, the company posted a net profit of Rs 6.61 crore for the quarter under review.

For the first half year of current fiscal, the company's turnover reached Rs 88.82 crore (Rs 71.01 crore), while the profit after taxation amounted to Rs 11.56 crore (Rs 8.06 crore), yielding an EPS of Rs 4.94 (Rs 4.63) on the enhanced equity base of Rs 23.38 crore (Rs 17.38 crore).
