GTL net down at Rs 14.6 crore

GTL Ltd has reported a marginal decrease in net profit, year-on-year, for the quarter ended September 30, 2004.

Net profit for the quarter amounted to Rs 14.6 crore, whereas the net profit for the same quarter the previous year had been Rs 14.96 crore.

Net sales rose 25.2 per cent to Rs 138.1 crore, up from Rs 110.26 crore. Of this, revenues from exports fell to Rs 39.42 crore (Rs 50.45 crore) while domestic revenues increased, amounting to Rs 98.68 crore.

Operating profit stood at Rs 46.82 crore (Rs 40.79 crore).

For the half-year ended September 30, 2004, GTL reported a 45.28 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 57.78 crore (Rs 39.77 crore). Total revenues amounted to Rs 274.28 crore (Rs 250.64 crore).

The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 19.09 crore for the quarter under consideration, up from Rs 17.95 crore during the same year-ago period. Consolidated revenues were at Rs 351.56 crore, up from Rs 302.92 crore.
