Satyam to join hands with Singapore to promote outsourcing

Hyderabad , Oct. 31

SATYAM Computer has said that it plans to join forces with the Singapore Government agencies to market IT outsourcing services.

Interacting with the visiting Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore, Dr Tony Tan, the Managing Director of Satyam, Mr Rama Raju, said, "The cost arbitrage opportunity it offers, in relation to diversified skill-sets of its manpower, is unlikely matched by any other country in the near future. We believe that if the Singapore brand name could be supported by the competitive advantage of India, the outsourcing story would become more compelling".

Satyam has been the first software company from India to set up its business continuity centre in Singapore and its entire Asia-Pacific operations are managed out of the Singapore office.

Singapore has been an integral part of Satyam's global strategy to service clients that may not have the economies of scale or network to penetrate the Indian domestic market as well as specialist IT service providers.

Dr Tony Tan, who toured the Satyam Technology Centre, said "the next few years will see exciting growth in the Satyam-Singapore relationship."
