Chennai , Oct. 31

THE Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will hold a conference on `Emerging Global Trends in Corporate Finance' on Thursday and Friday. The event is being branded as `The India Finance Forum (TIFF) 2004,' which CII hopes will become an annual feature in its calendar.

Between the inaugural and valedictory sessions, the conference will discuss five topics — governance-driven corporate finance, accessing equity markets, emerging trends in debt financing, mergers and acquisitions and risk managements.

Eighteen experts will address the participants. Some of them are Prof. Bala Balachandran from the Kellogg School of Management, US, Mr P. K. Choudhary, Managing Director, ICRA, Mr S. Naganath from DSP Merrill Lynch Fund Managers, Ms Shanthi Ekambaram, Director, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Mr Ravi Ramu from Mphasis and Mr R. Seshasayee, Managing Director, Ashok Leyland.

Mr K. Sridharan, Chairman, TIFF 2004, said that the "value pack" event would be useful on what is happening in the finance world, as each session features a case study. He said that over 200 companies had agreed to send delegates to the conference.
