Rubber under pressure

STRONG buyer resistance continued to pressurise the spot rubber prices on Monday. The covering groups and purchase agents were hesitant to buy at higher levels as reports from the world markets were not bullish.

The NMCE futures appeared steady quoting the November delivery at Rs 54.30 (54.28) a kg on Monday. The December delivery was quoted at Rs 55.10 (54.98), January delivery at Rs 56.26 (56.06) and February delivery at Rs 57.20 (57.13) per kg for RSS 4.

Spot rates per kg on Monday were: RSS 4 Rs 53 (53.50); RSS 5 Rs 52 (52.25); ungraded Rs 49.25 (49.50); ISNR 20 Rs 52.25 (52.25); latex 60 per cent Rs 40 (40.50).
