Software Oracle begins roadshows Our Bureau

Mumbai , Nov 1 TERMING India and China as amongst its fastest growing markets worldwide, enterprise software giant Oracle today said it would continue to grow its operations in India including ramping up its headcount. "We have over 6,500 people in India, in organisations such as development centres, direct operations, world-wide global service operations, world-wide financial information centre. We will continue to increase our headcount here. But I cannot put any specific number," Mr Keith Budge, Vice-President, Asia Pacific, Oracle Corporation, said at a conference here. Mr Derek Williams, Executive Vice-President, Oracle, Asia-Pacific Division, said segments such as public sector, government, financial services, telecom and manufacturing would be the growth engines for the company in India. Oracle's conference series Oracle OpenWorld opened on Monday in Mumbai with over 1,600 customers and partners from across India gathered to exchange ideas and gain insight into how on the latest technology and business software can help businesses drive greater efficiency. Built on the theme of `Answers for you industry, applications for your business' Oracle OpenWorld Mumbai, would also showcase software solutions for the India market from Oracle and its partners.
