Havell's PBT at 9.24 cr

NEW DELHI: Power distribution equipment major Havell's India Ltd has reported a 60 per cent growth in sales at Rs 159 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2004. The company has registered a gross profit (PBT) of Rs 9.24 crore during the period, as against Rs 7.33 crore registered during the same period last fiscal, a company release said here.

Havell's India leads the switchgear segment with a market share of about 26 per cent, the release said. The company is also one of the top five players in the cables and wires segments with market shares of 14 per cent and 15 per cent respectively, it said. The switchgear, cables and wires divisions currently contribute nearly 80 per cent of the total turnover of the company with the balance being contributed by meters and consumer durables division.
