Crafts mela in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: A grand crafts mela, with over 100 stalls from all over the country, exhibiting and selling products from village industry would be organised as part of the foundation day of the National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) at its Rural Technology Park between November 4 and 7.

The NIRD will also hold a seminar on "Guaranteed Employment for the Rural Poor". The Union Secretary, Rural Development, Mr M. Shankar, would inaugurate, while Dr Prabhat Patnaik, Prof of Economics at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will deliver the keynote address, according to an NIRD press release.
