ACS plans Rs 100-cr facility at InfoPark

AFFILIATED Computer Services (ACS), a Fortune 500 company specialising in diversified business process and IT outsourcing solutions, will invest Rs 100 crore in setting up a facility at the Kochi InfoPark in January next.

Announcing this, an official said that a memorandum of understanding to this effect was signed with the company in Bangalore on Wednesday in the presence of the Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy. The Kochi facility will employ around 2,000 professionals. ACS is the second largest investor in ITPL, Bangalore.

The Chief Minister is meeting with captains of the IT industry participating in BangaloreIT.com.

Already, Infosys and Wipro have made investment decisions with respect to Kerala. Talks with many other prospective investors are in final stages.

A high-level delegation from Dubai Internet City has been visiting Kochi in recent times to decide on investing in their Rs 400-crore Smart City Project.

The State is showcasing its strengths in infrastructure at BangaloreIT.com. Among those listed are the Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram; the InfoPark, Kochi; various e-Governance initiatives including the Akshaya project; and the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management Kerala (IIIM-K).
