AP software pros take a fancy to Comet bike

Hyderabad , Nov. 3

IN less than two weeks of launch of bookings for the Kinetic Comet superbike from the Hyosung stable, a 250 cc twin engine cruiser, the company has garnered over 120 bookings, and significantly a good number of them software professionals. Interestingly, even in Hyderabad, out of four bookings even before the announcement, three were software professionals.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, the General Manager of Kinetic Engineering, Mr Ajinkya Firodia, said that the company expected to notch about 70 bookings from Hyderabad out of the total targeted 500 from nine cities in the country before the November 25 deadline.

Mr Firodia said depending upon the response to this Rs 1.63 lakh bike, just like the successful offer of 300 Aquilas against the original 100 motorcycles planned, "we would consider the option of possibly bringing the 650cc version of Comet as well." However, this will depend on the feedback from bike lovers in the country. This bike, brought in the completely knocked down form, is part of Kinetic's efforts "to create something special for its customers and not a money spinning initiative."

"We have restricted the supply and bookings to only these cities to provide the necessary after sales and service. Each centre would have a specially trained engineer to handle the requirements of the Comet buyers.
