`Job reservation will not be imposed on pvt sector'

THE Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, has reportedly told businessmen that his Government will not "impose" job reservations on the private sector.

"The Prime Minister re-assured that reservation policy in the private sector would not be imposed... Labour reform was on the agenda of his Government.

"A pragmatic view would be taken in consultation with all concerned," a news release issued by the Indian Merchants' Chamber (IMC) said.
