Auditing Lodha resigns as statutory auditor for Grasim Our Bureau
Mumbai , Nov. 4 CHARTERED accountancy firm, Lodha & Co, is now out as statutory auditor of Grasim Industries and its business concerns. The chartered accountant, Mr R.S. Lodha, is locked in legal battle with the Birlas over the bequest of the M.P. Birla group assets to him by the late Priyamvada Birla. Lodha & Co has resigned as statutory auditor of Grasim Industies, and its resignation has been accepted, said the A.V. Birla Group company in a notice to the stock exchanges today. The chartered accountancy firm has resigned and its resignations accepted as branch auditors of Rajashree Cement and the Birla White Cement divisions of the company too, said the company. G.P Kapadia & Co, Chartered Accountants, Mumbai, currently the joint-statutory auditor of the company, will now act as sole statutory auditor of Grasim Industries and will also do the audit for the company's Rajashree Cement and Birla White Cement divisions, in accordance with the provisions of law.This will be so until the conclusion of the next annual general meeting of the company, said the notice.
