Arogya fair to be held in January

Our Bureau

Chennai , Nov. 8

`AROGYA- Chennai 2005', a trade fair that aims to promote Indian systems of medicine, will be held here from January 7-9.

The three-day fair would be organised by the Indian Trade Promote Organisation (ITPO) and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare's Department of AYUSH.

Earlier editions of Arogya were held in New Delhi. The Chennai edition is aimed at making it more convenient for South India-based institutions to participate.

At a press briefing on Monday, the ITPO's Deputy General Manager, Mr Amrit Singh, said the organisation's main function was to provide a platform to manufacturers, practitioners of Indian systems of treatment and consumers.

The fair would also include allopathic institutions that aim to provide holistic treatment.

An ITPO press release said the cost of stall space would be Rs 4,000 per sq m (excluding taxes).
