SONY India Pvt Ltd on Monday announced the simultaneous launch of nine new Sony authorised service centers across the country. Of these, four each were opened in the North and West and one centre in the East, the company said in a statement and adding that the company now has a nationwide service network of 139 centers.

It said service centre expansion forms a key focus of Sony India's strategy for this year with the company planning to increase the number to 160.

"Sony's growth in India has been fuelled by a strong product line up, technological superiority and excellent after sales service network. While introducing products ranging from conventional picture tube CTVs to the fully flat WEGA picture tube CTVs, Sony India has firmly believed that the consumer should be offered latest technology products along with world class after sales service," said the Managing Director, Mr Keiichi Sakamoto.
