New Delhi , Nov. 9

THE Chief Executive Officer of Intel Corporation, Mr Craig Barrett, is scheduled to meet Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, during his high-profile visit to India next week.

Mr Barrett will also interact with IT and Communications Minister, Mr Dayanidhi Maran, during his visit to New Delhi on November 18, sources said. On his itinerary is a visit to Intel's development centre in Bangalore, as well. Founded in 1968 to build semiconductor memory products, Intel today supplies chips, systems, software, networking and communications equipment and services that comprise the "ingredients" of computer architecture and the Internet.

The company has set up and developed Intel Technology India Private Ltd as a wholly-owned downstream subsidiary in India (Intel India) with offices in various locations including Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Chandigarh and Pune. In 1999, Intel established a development centre in Bangalore to take advantage of the large pool of engineering talent in India.
