EMIRATES airline will launch a second daily service to and from Birmingham from next summer.

The second daily flight will begin operating on June 1, 2005, and will be served by a new 285-seat Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

Emirates' second service from Dubai is ideally timed to connect with onward flights to destinations such as Sydney, Brisbane, Singapore, Manila, Bangkok, Johannesburg and Nairobi, the airline said in a statement.

The additional flight comes on top of Emirates' four services a day to Heathrow, three to Gatwick, two to Manchester and once daily to Glasgow.
