No Coonoor tea sales this week

THE Coonoor Tea Trade Association (CTTA) has announced that there would be no auctions this week on account of Diwali.

The next auctions styled Sale No: 47 would be held for 10.45 lakh kg of leaf grades on November 18 and 3.75 lakh kg of the dust grades on November 19. In all, therefore, 14.2 lakh kg would be offered for sale.

Of this, each of the eight brokers would offer five lots each under the electronic system. Thus, 40 lots would be sold through e-auctions and the rest by the usual outcry system.

An official said that the buyers would be given more time to sell their teas through the electronic auctions.
