Internet Culture info portal to be ready by 2006 Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Nov. 10 AN `e-dwaram' (e-door) would be opened in a couple of years from now, giving a peep into the rich cultural heritage of European and India. The project costing Euro 4,00,000, started early this year, would culminate into a portal that provides bundles of information on arts, heritage, culture and artefacts. Most interesting of the portal would be 3D content that would take browsers on virtual tours to places of cultural interest such as museums and temples. The portal allows people from any part of the world to log on to the Net to have the three-dimensional view of the science museum at Birla Science Centre in Hyderabad or the historical Alampur temple in Mahboobnagar district. The European Union sponsored project, jointly taken up by two EU universities and the Science Centre, is expected to be completed by 2006.
