Round-the-clock car breakdown service in Hyderabad

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , Nov.10

A HYDERABAD-based security services firm, State Security Services, has come up with an innovative idea that helps people stranded with their cars to get back on wheels.

The Chairman and Managing Director of State Security Services, Lt Isaac M.R., told Business Line that Express Car Rescue christened E-Care, came through as a business proposition when he realised that there is no real 24x7x365 day service that offers instant support for breakdown of cars.

"It all started when I was once stranded on a highway at midnight and all my efforts to get support were in vain. That is when I felt that there is potential for such services.

"Often the 24-hour service offered by several car service centres is limited to new cars and that too restricted to certain areas. With our solution, any car owner irrespective of make and model, can get this round-the-clock breakdown service," he explained.

E-care has invested about Rs 50 lakh in this project and has located 20 teams across the twin cities. These teams have been located at strategic centres.

Any person owning a car can enrol for this service by paying Rs 900, valid for one year. When he is in crisis and has his vehicle stranded, he can call a toll free number. Once we receive the call, it is directed to the team nearest to the spot and gets the car started.

"We are also in talks with various auto companies and garages to partner with them and offer these services. This would be further extended by creating a large service centre for all makes. If you look at the cost for a vehicle owner, this works out to Rs 2.74 paise per day for round-the-clock support. Our company employs over 800 people providing security services in the twin cities," he explained.
