Hyderabad , Nov. 12

THE Ugandan and Kenyan Governments are keen on development of agricultural lands in their countries by the farmers of Andhra Pradesh, according to Mr C.C. Reddy, advisor to the State Government on Foreign Investment and Human Relations.

The AP Government has embarked upon a project that envisages the State farmers taking up large stretches of virgin land of African countries on long term lease for cultivation. Mr Reddy said that this project would be beneficial to both farmers of the State and the African countries. While the State farmers would get additional land for cultivation, the African farmers would get the knowledge of cultivation of various crops.

A technical team headed by Mr Reddy also visited the countries to examine whether the prospective land to be provided for project would be suitable for cultivation of various crops.
