CIS envoys meet AP Chief Minister

A GROUP of Ambassadors representing the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) has invited the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, to visit their respective countries to explore business opportunities.
The delegation, comprising Ambassadors of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and other officials, met the Chief Minister here on Thursday to discuss trade and business opportunities.
The areas of special interest were drugs, pharmaceuticals, electrical machinery and equipment, information technology, organic chemicals and dairy.
The Chief Minister assured the delegation that his Government would do all the needful to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two sides, a Government press release said.
"We will identify the areas of mutual interest," he said.
Mr Kairat E. Umarov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan, and Mr Ibrokhim Mavlonov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan, were in the city on FICCI's (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) invitation.
