A papaya vendor with a mobile phone in Bangalore on Friday. Little wonder, there are now more mobiles than landlines in the country. According to the Cellular operators Association of India, the number mobile subscribers (both GSM and CDMA) was 4.45 crore as compared to 4.39 crore fixed line subscribers at the end of October.
