A comprehensive public policy

Dr Y.V. Reddy, Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, has rightly pointed out the need for a comprehensive public policy on risk management in agriculture. Such a policy would, no doubt, provide relief to distressed farmers, but what is significant is that the Governor has laid emphasis on a more efficient commercialised agriculture.
