PHOENIX Yule Ltd, the country's largest manufacturer of conveyor belts, has bagged the "Highest Export Award" in the non-tyre segment from the All-India Rubber Industries Association (AIRIA).

The award was given in recognition of the company's outstanding export performance of both steel cord and textile conveyor belts during 2003-04.

According to a release issued here, export sales during 2003-04 stood at Rs 42.2 crore, up from Rs 26.5 crore in 2002-03 and Rs 8.1 crore in 2001-02. The company exports conveyor belts to over 20 countries.

The release states that about 35 per cent of the company's turnover last year was accounted for by exports. In the months ahead, efforts would be made to penetrate untapped markets globally, it said.
