Talks on Bajarang Jute mill reopening

GUNTUR: The tripartite talks on the issue of reopening of Bajarang Jute Mill here are scheduled to be held in Hyderabad later this week, before the Commissioner of Labour.

The management declared a lockout on Friday over a dispute on payment of bonus.

According to Mr L. Appi Reddy, the union President, the workers of the mill want the lockout lifted and bonus paid in accordance with the wage agreement, which expired in August. The new agreement could be worked out after talks in Hyderabad. Mr K. Lakshminarayana, Minister for Co-operation, said here on Sunday that he would try to break the deadlock and get the mill reopened.
