Salem Steel Plant gets award for QMS

COIMBATORE: Salem Steel Plant has been awarded the Indian Institute of Metals' (IIM) best plant quality management system/quality image award for 2004. The award for the plant was given under the pig iron/DR/major re-rolling units category.

According to a press note from Salem Steel Plant's Manager (Public Relations), Mr T. Gautaman, the award was received by Mr U. V. Acharya, Assistant General Manager (Operation) HRM, at the annual technical meet of the IIM held on November 17 in Thiruvananthapuram.
