BANGALORE: IBM India has introduced notebook PC ThinkPad T42 with enhanced biometric capability and embedded security subsystem.

Equipped with a fingerprint reader, the notebook provides easier access to password-protected information, Web sites, documents and e-mail for the user.

"What was once considered sci-fi technology is now available to all in the notebook of choice for everyday use," said Mr Sanjeev Menon, Brand Manager, Mobile Computing, IBM India, in a press release.

"The first biometric ThinkPad combines a fingerprint reader with an embedded security subsystem, providing a layer of security that is built-in, not bolted on," he said.
