Shipping Logistics - Mergers & Acquisitions Temasek picks up 10 pc stake in Gateway Distriparks Our Bureau
Mumbai Nov. 23 ARANDA Investments (Mauritius) Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore-based Temasek Holdings Pte Ltd, has picked up a 10 per cent stake in Gateway Distriparks Ltd (GDL), a port-based logistics services company providing container freight station (CFS) and inland container depot (ICD) operations at gateway ports and potential hinterlands of India. Post-Tamsek investment, the promoters' holding in GDL will come down to 68 per cent. The company was promoted by the Singapore-based Windmill International Pte Ltd, Parameshwara Holdings Ltd and Thakral Corporation, along with the Indian partner, Prism International Pvt Ltd. According to Captain Kapil Anand, CEO of the company, Temasek will be investing a total of Rs 20.48 crore in GDL. He said the company was in the process of setting up a greenfield CFS at Vizag, which would be operational in the current fiscal, and was planning to set up another CFS at Chennai.
