Mangalore , Nov. 24

RELIANCE Infocomm on Wednesday rolled out the `Get Started Kit'. The kit consists of a pre-allocated 10-digit Reliance IndiaMobile (RIM) number and a nine-digit PIN to help activate a handset.

A company release said here that the kit would be available at Reliance Web Worlds and the 40,000-strong channel partners across the country.

With the kit, which is available for pre-paid and post-paid subscribers in separate packs, customers can purchase any Reliance-approved handset from the open market and get it activated with number of their choice. Hitherto, Reliance Infocomm was providing handsets with pre-activated numbers.

Quoting the President for Wireless Products and Services, Mr S.P. Shukla, the release said that Reliance Get Started Kit would give a big boost to the second-hand phone market. "A huge stock of used handsets is available in the market as many RIM subscribers have, of late, begun to upgrade their handsets," he said.
