KOTTAYAM: The Rubber Board has invited applications from eligible rubber growers for assistance under the Rubber Plantation Development Scheme subject to the approval of the Union Government.

Assistance would be available only for replanting and new planting. In traditional areas, assistance for new planting is available only for a limited extent.

Applications in the prescribed form in duplicate together with two copies of survey plan of the land already planted\proposed to be planted in the year 2004 should reach the respective regional office of the Board on or before December 31.

Application forms and other details could be obtained from all regional and field offices of the Board. In Kerala and Tamil Nadu, growers, whose total rubber area does not exceed 5 ha including new planting\replanting during the current year only, are eligible for planting grant limited to 2 ha. The incentive includes a cash subsidy at the rate to be approved by the Union Government.
