GTECH request to Kerala CM

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Group of Technopark Companies (GTECH) has requested the Chief Minister to bring Technopark under the purview of the Essential Services Act.

In a presentation made to the Chief Minister recently, the GTECH President, Mr Sunil Gupta, said the Technopark community had helped the State become an investor-friendly destination. Today, it provides employment to nearly 6,500 skilled workers. These companies are also involved in various community development and charity programmes.

The IT industry in the State, and Technopark in particular, is set to see big growth in the next five years. In order to realise the full potential, the companies should be provided with the freedom to work uninterruptedly. It is estimated that they lose Rs 1 crore in revenue for every working day lost to hartals, Mr Gupta said.
