People Corporate - Corporate Disputes Mukesh, Anil attend function Our Bureau
Mumbai , Nov. 27 FOR the first time since the family feud over "private, ownership issues" of the Reliance group spilled over into the public domain, the Ambani brothers on Saturday shared the same roof at a corporate awards function held in Mumbai. Mr Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, who has been credited with beginning the controversy in a television statement, walked in alone, dodging television cameras and questions from journalists. "Kem cho Mukesh bhai (How are you)?" a journalist asked in Gujarati. "Ekdum first class!" a beaming Mukesh replied and walked into a lift, which, much to his chagrin refused to move. His younger brother and Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, Mr Anil Ambani, followed just five minutes later accompanied by his wife. To the amusement of reporters, Mr Anil Ambani, who also refused to acknowledge the presence of journalists, walked into the same lift, which again refused to budge.
