Nabard sanctions Rs 143 cr for AP irrigation projects

THE National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 143 crore as loan assistance to the Andhra Pradesh Government for implementing 14-lift irrigation and 29 minor irrigation projects. The amount has been sanctioned from the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIFD).

An extent of 22,218 acres of land could be irrigated under these projects being executed in the districts of Adilabad, Guntur, Karimnagar, Krishna, Mahabubnagar, Nizamabad and Khammam. With the present sanction, the aggregate loan assistance sanctioned by the bank to the State Government from the RIDF so far in the current fiscal stands at Rs 378.47 crore.
