Pre-budget discussion with industry on Dec 10

THE Finance Ministry is to hold pre-budget discussions on the Union Budget for 2005-06 with various segments of industry and industry associations from December 10.

Besides the Chairpersons and members of the Central Board of Direct Taxes and the Central Board of Excise and Customs, the Revenue Secretary, Mr K.M. Chandrasekhar, is also likely to participate in the pre-budget discussions with industry.

In the run-up to the Union Budget for 2005-06, industry associations have already started submitting their pre-budget memorandums to the Finance Ministry.
