Management modules

The article `The eclipse of management doctrine' (Business Line, November 24) was interesting and refreshing. Even in a recent interview on the eve of his 95th birthday, celebrated Management Guru, Peter Drucker said, "Management is a relationship". Self-management teams (SMTs), to function effectively, have to be small, homogenous and should have a clear and common ideal. However, in any organisation, there are employees, who look for the comfort of anonymity. There is a need, therefore, for managers to take them along. When people realise that managers are the driving force and not the media, reaching the goal would be easier.
