Bangalore , Nov. 30

ABOUT 5,000 current and former students of the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) from around the world will meet in Delhi for a conference and exhibition on December 24 and 25.

The event, being organised by PanIIT, a global IIT alumni forum, is the third such, following get-togethers in Silicon Valley, US, and Bangalore.

"We have chosen `IITians: Empowering India' as the theme of the event, which will take stock of what IITians have contributed to the nation in the past and try to determine what role they can play in the future," said Mr Pawan Kumar, Chairman and CEO of vMoksha Technologies and Chairperson of PanIIT Executive Council India.

The conference would consist of discussions on the subject of global competitiveness while the exhibition would showcase the products and services of entrepreneurs educated at the IITs, Mr Pawan Kumar, an IIT-Kanpur alumnus, said.
