Our Bureau

Thiruvananthapuram , Dec. 1

BHARAT Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has revised tariff for calls made under the `Friends and Family Talk' scheme for CellOne subscribers with effect from Wednesday.

The registration fee for land phones in urban areas has also been slashed with effect from that date.

A BSNL spokesman said here that the new monthly charge for the scheme would be Rs 49 for subscribers under Plan-325 and Rs 24 for Plan-525.

The existing charge for both the plans was a uniform Rs 75.

Calls made under this scheme will be charged from December 1 onwards at 50 per cent of the normal call rates for each plan.

Calls for subscribers of the `Student Power Scheme' would be charged at the rate of Rs 1.50 per minute for cell-to-cell and cell-to-landline calls.

From December 1, the registration charge for land phones in urban areas would be Rs 500 in place of the existing fee of Rs 2,000.

The revised rates are applicable for all new bookings made from December 1 onwards.
