Hyderabad , Dec. 1

GIVING smokers a special room for their indulgence, Godfrey Phillips has opened a mobile smoking lounge (MSL) here.

The air-conditioned lounge allows smokers over the age of 18 years to step in and smoke, Ms Nita Kapoor, Senior Vice-President (Marketing), said.

This is a boon to non-smokers too as they can now breathe nicotine-free air. She said the smokers could smoke their favourite brand or pick Godfrey Phillip's products put on sale in the lounge. There is no fee for using the lounges.

The Rs 1,100-crore cigarette major runs five such lounges in Ahmedabad, Delhi and Mumbai. Everyday, an average of 125-130 smokers use these lounges.

It plans to cover a total of seven cities by the end of next year. In Hyderabad, the lounges will cover areas like Prasads IMAX and Big Bazaar.
