Our Bureau

VISAKHAPATNAM: Union Bank of India will set up two more branches here by the month-end, according to the Assistant General Manager, Mr M.K. Ravi Varma.

He was speaking to reporters here on Wednesday after the inauguration of an ATM at the Daba Gardens branch by Mr K.V. Gupta, Financial Adviser and Chief Accounts Officer of the Visakhapatnam Port Trust.

He said the two new branches would be opened at the Siripuram Junction in the city. The bank had applied to the RBI for licences to open more branches — at Madhurawada and Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam district, and two more in East Godavari and one each at Kakinada and Rajahmundry.

He said the 23 branches in the region were computerised and core banking solutions had been introduced in 10 of them. He said it was the policy of the bank to introduce core banking solutions in all the 750 branches.
