Hyderabad , Dec. 2

RELIANCE Infocomm, in association with Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC), has launched Railway Ticket Booking service through Reliance India Mobile (RIM) in 120 cities across all 28 states and union territories of India.

This facility will be available even on black and white handsets, which effectively enables a higher proportion of RIM customers to avail this unique service. In Andhra Pradesh, it covers seven cities of Guntur, Hyderabad, Kakinada, Secunderabad, Tirupati, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.

The President, Applications and Solutions Group, Reliance Infocomm, Mr Mahesh Prasad, said, "This facility on R World allows users to make reservation through RIM. With a customer base of over 9 million users, this initiative from Reliance Infocomm has immense potential."

The Group General Manager (IT Services), IRCTC, Mr Amitabh Pandey, in a statement said, "With the explosion of mobile base in India, a large potential customer base, which may not have ready access to PCs and Internet, now certainly have access to data enabled mobile phones."

The ticket can be paid for by using any credit card — Master, Visa, Diners or Amex — and get it delivered at their doorstep. For existing IRCTC registered users, the same User ID and Password can be used.
