Bangalore , Dec. 5

THE Russian President, Mr Vladimir Putin, said on Sunday that Russia and India should work together on innovative new technologies.

Addressing Infosys employees at the company's campus, Mr Putin said that both the countries should co-operate with each other on developing newer technologies, according to an Infosys release.

The Infosys Chairman and Chief Mentor, Mr N.R. Narayana Murthy, said that though both the countries have leveraged each other's strengths across various industry sectors, there are avenues that remain unexplored.

"In order to progress further, we must focus on greater co-operation between the two nations. This calls for open-mindedness and a careful analysis of the economic benefits for the two nations," he said.

"As our bilateral relations expand in scope and depth, surely IT will be one of the areas in which both countries can collaborate for talent and knowledge."

Earlier, Mr Putin met with the senior management of the company, including Mr Nandan M. Nilekani, CEO, President and Managing Director.

Mr Putin also visited the company's global management centre.

Mr Putin also visited Hindustan Aeronautics where he saw display of Intermediate jet trainer, advanced light helicopter Dhruv and light combat aircraft.
