SBI to enlarge CBS coverage in Kerala

KOCHI: The State Bank of India is to enlarge coverage of Core Banking Solutions (CBS) branches networked in Kerala. Inaugurating the CBS at its Personal Banking Branch Ernakulam on Sunday, Mr Asok Kini, Managing Director, of the Bank said that SBI's core banking would cover all its associate banks as well and is set to revolutionise the entire banking scenario in the country.

At present, 255 branches of SBI are on CBS platform throughout India. The bank intends to bring 2,000 branches under core banking by March 2005. Core banking will provide inter connectivity of branches and offers customers anytime anywhere banking facility, he said.

The function was attended by Ms Radha Unni, General Manager, Kerala Circle, and Mr S.Ramakrishnan, Deputy General Manager, Ernakulam Module.
