AirTel, eSeva partner for utility services in Twin Cities

AIRTEL, the private telecom services provider, on Saturday announced its partnership with eSeva, the integrated citizen services centres, and announced a new era of convenience for its customers wherein they can pay their utility bills through its mobile service.

To begin with, this service has been launched in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and will subsequently be rolled out in other parts of the State.

Netxcell Limited is the technology partner for this initiative, which facilitates utility services covering payment of electricity bills, water and sewerage bills, telephone bills, property and sales tax.

The Chief Operating Officer of Bharti Cellular in Andhra Pradesh, Mr K. Srinivas, in a statement said, "The Airtel eSeva tie up is a step to provide easy access and payment convenience." The Director of eSeva, Mr R.P. Sisodia, said, "The service from the Government will provide greater convenience and comfort to the people and make their day-to-day life simpler."

Idea brings Sumo wrestlers: Idea Cellular has announced its plans to bring to India its two ward winning Sumo brand ambassadors, Tachibana and Motohashi for a national tour travelling across all their eight circles. The 20-day tour is slated to cover several cities and they will be in Hyderabad for three days (December 11 to 13). Tachibana and Motohashi have been professional Sumo wrestlers for 12 and 9 years respectively.

The Sumo tour includes numerous below the line activities including several customer contact programmes, SMS and voice-based contests, merchandising and channel activities.

The Chief Executive Officer of Idea Cellular, Mr Vikram Mehmi, in a statement said, "Bringing the Sumos to India is an extension of the on-air campaign and our attempt to provide our customers an experience of "Prepaid Ho To IDEA Jaisa."
