Satellite port

MADURAI: The Tuticorin Port Trust has carried out a feasibility study for developing a satellite port to enhance the container handling capacity, according to the port Chairman, Mr N.K. Raghupathy.

The project is likely to be taken up towards the end of the Tenth Plan, as the traffic projections indicated that TPT might have to handle 6,00,000 TEUs by 2006-07, a port press release said.
