Tata Motors Nov vehicle sales up 24.4%

TATA Motors on Monday reported a 24.4 per cent increase in total sale of vehicles (including export) to 31,428 units in November 2004 as against the previous corresponding 25,255 units during November 2003.

Commercial vehicle (CV) sales for the month were up 24.9 per cent to 15,774 units (12,626 units for year ago period). Passenger vehicle sales moved up by 22 per cent to 13,089 units, including a 27 per cent growth in Indica sales to 7,580 units and a 23.5 per cent rise in sales of the Indigo family to 2,868 units.

Utility vehicle (UV) sales for November gained by 9 per cent to 2,641 units. During the April-November period, the company's total sales were up 29.7 per cent to 2,47,205 units (1,90,639 units). This included CV sales of 1,16,394 units (89,620 units), a rise of 29.9 per cent.

M&HCV sales for the first eight months amounted to 79,614 units (59,840 units), up 33 per cent, while that of LCVs was up 23.5 per cent to 36,780 units (29,780 units). Cumulative passenger vehicle sales for the fiscal so far grew by 28.2 per cent to 1,15,369 units. Indica sales for the period increased by 31 per cent to 69,670 units. UV sales for the period, at 19,967 units, was up 5 per cent.

Tata Motors' exports touched 2,565 units (1,904 units) for November and for the fiscal so far, 15,442 units (11,057 units).
