AP CM invites Dell to expand facilities to Visakhapatnam

THE Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, has invited Dell Computers to consider expansion with a new facility in Visakhapatnam.

Extending this invitation during the bhoomipuja function for Dell's facility in Hyderabad today, Dr Reddy also suggested that the computer giant establish their Hardware Assembling Centre in Andhra Pradesh.

Mr John Hamlin, Senior Vice-President of Dell's US consumer and international services expressed happiness over the pro-active Government support. Dell is setting up a facility spread over 6.6 acres in the Hitech city, Madhapur near Hyderabad.

In addition to Mr Hamlin, Mr Dagoberto Quintana, Vice-president of Dell international services, Mr Romi Malhotra, Managing Director, India operations and Mr Jaideep Pradhan, Site Director, Dell, Hyderabad were present, according to an official press release from the Chief Minister's Office.

The new campus would be built on a 3 lakh sq.ft area and construction would begin soon. Dell chose AP as its produces extremely competent and efficient human resources, the release said.
